The ECUSTA Higher Learning Institute Library since its establishment, January, 2007 has shown progress in developing library collection. Here after, the official name of the library is ECUSTA-Library. The library had been set up to meet the academic needs of the Catholic Higher Learning Institute and is located at Catholic Cathedral Campus main building first flour.
Learning Resource Center
The computing and networking facilities in ECUSTA Library are to support the educational and curriculum-related research needs. The Library supports free access to research materials and use of computing technologies to identify, locate and use scholarly resources. In order to address the demand of information needs, the university shall continue up-dating itself with new information for users.
-Building up a collection of print and non-print information resources that supports research and instructional programs of the Institute
-Providing information communication technologies that are commensurate with the number of users and
-Provide a conducive environment and support the Institute in creating a lifelong learning culture
-To bring the state of art in the university library and information service unit.
-To create awareness among the university community to accept and respect the library rules and regulations stated in the policy.
-To equip the university community with information skills and also to transform the community into critical thinkers.

The growth of the library collection is very much controlled and monitored by the acquisitions section. In collaboration with library staff, students and teaching staff, the section acquires reading materials through purchasing, subscriptions, donations/or gifts and exchange programs. It is in this section, that the incoming reading materials are accessioned among other things.
To accomplish the aforementioned activities the acquisition section has a committee members consisting of the following:

To ensure security of acquired information materials through laid down standards and procedures
To acquire information resources within the budget allocation

Information systems section
The information system section is the most important service area that the library provides various information resources and makes them available to its users. The main objective of the sections is:
To help students and staff understand the usefulness of basic reference work
To develop ability and skill in using all library resources and facilities independently
To provide current information about periodicals, Journals, books, news papers and magazines etc.
To ensure that the information systems in the library infrastructure is functioning optimally
To ensure that there is an information systems policy for the library
To enable the Library become the centre of learning and research
To provide efficient and effective library and information services that meet the information needs of the clients
To provide information literacy knowledge and skills training to the clients
To ensure a conducive environment for lifelong learning.

To select, acquire systematically organize books, Journals, electronic resource and make them available to support the university teaching learning and research program

To facilitate the acquisition of appropriate information systems that will help the library achieve its purpose/aim and objectives

Technical section operations are concerned with securing and processing materials for customers use. The primary function of the technical services unit is to receive accession and catalogue/classify information resources (books, audio-visual materials) for library use. Mainly it focuses around two basic functions namely:
1. Organizing and processing materials. This consists of informing the library users of the types of information materials available
2. Maintaining collection and records that provide access to the library’s collection.
ECUSTA’s library collection size ranges between: 15,000 to 20,000 volumes of books. Most books are up-to-date and accompanied by CDs to be used in the library electronically. The books are systematically organized using the Dewey Decimal classification system.

Food and drinking in the library
In an attempt to keep the building clean, sanitary and pest-free, the library does not allow food or drink in the building. Library visitors who violate this policy may be asked to leave the building
Noise in the Library
The ECUSTA Library strives to create an environment that is quiet and conducive for research and study. Library visitors are encouraged to abide by the library rules and procedures, for example, loud talking, using cell phone, and audio-visual equipment.

ECUSTA Library is committed to providing quality service and an excellent collection of materials to support the mission, goals, and objectives of educational research needs for students, staff, and the community at large.
In order to meet the needs of the students and staff of ECUSTA, full time library services are provided during all academic sessions.
ECUSTA Library is open to students and staff of the University, as well as members of the community. Reference service will be provided to all who come into the library in person, as well as e-mail and phone.
Library Access Catalogs
Cataloguing and classification function is vital process for the proper bibliographic description of each item available in the library and make the resources access to information users. Cataloguing as a locating tool in the library provides Author, Title and subject heading entries of each book in the library.
Compact Disc (CDs) Searches
This provides access to abstracted, indexed journals and other general information
User Education services
The library offers orientation program of how to use the Library information to all new users
